The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bars. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service throughout our stay. Electrical items in poor condition inc heater, electric blanket, fridge & jug. No smoke alarms or sprinklers! Shower had old soap scum in the soap dish & purple shampoo up the walls. Toothbrush holder covered in scum in the bottom. No bathmats or face cloths.I was there as my Mum was in hospital so I only slept there. Had I been there during the day, I would have addressed the issues. Needs a major update to the dated decor, appliances & fire ssfety. Our apartment was spotless, very clean, and well maintained. The motel felt comfortable and homely, making it easy to relax and feel at home during our stay. The location is excellent! Super close to fantastic restaurants, beautiful Hagley Park, and the city centre, making it easy to explore Christchurch without travelling far.
