> Rimu trees are looking miserable in the planters in cathedral square. Rimu are not suitable for this kind of planting, they need deep soil and a lot of moisture, which can only be achieved by planting in the ground. A more suitable specimen for this particular use would be pittosporum or another small rooted tree. Suggest talking to expects such as DOC or the lovely staff at the botanic gardens for good advice rather than an architect?!
