> Today I went to the Windsurfing area and found the location to disgusting. I am a health professional and found things of concern. A wonderful toilet / shower was created some years ago and has been out of use and locked for years. Why is this so? In place there are four 'portaloos'. Today 'freedom campers' were queuing to use one toilet of the four. This toilet was the only one with paper. I chose one of the other toilets as has a tissue up my sleeve. I was appalled to see faeces and urine about ten centimetres from the seat! Ie toilet full! If the council are going to allow 'freedom campers' to occupy sporting/picnic/family areas why are these toilets not serviced more carefully? While I was rigging in the grass area at the end of the car park (east) I noticed a stench smell of urine in the grass. This is some distance from the 'portaloos'. I suspect urinating is occurring in the bush. How do we know they are not urinating in the estuary where we sail ? I also found what appeared to paper towels covered in faeces blowing through the grass. There is an outside shower in the area I am describing. I was unhappy to witness a tourist showering naked! Why are the campers allowed to almost totally occupy these areas? The general appearance of the area is unkept. Lawns not cut and litter in grass. It smells of both urine and rotten food. This area did not use to be like this.... It used to be a wonderful tranquil place to simple come to and watch the sea.
