> Currently there are preparations for installation of fibre along our street. I note that further down the road the surface has been relaid. It would be nice to think that the surface along our stretch of road would also be relaid since the regular bus traffic is largely indistinguishable from a magnitude 3 quake. However, the subsurface of this road needs to be ripped up. Prior to the 2010 quake, about 2009, the surface was repaired with one of the poorest resurfacings I have seen. Within months it was starting to break up. A repair was done but since the underlying base was never addressed it failed again, then the earthquakes came. So we have endured a poor road surface for the last eight years. Don't make the same mistake again, do it once and do it right, please.
