> Hi My names Tim, I’m just writing to you as a concerned fishing angler in regards to the planned work on the Waimakariri river bed to remove one of the silt islands by I think Ecan?. We are just coming into the Sea Run Salmon season here in New Zealand and from now until April salmon enter our rivers from the sea and make their journey up into the headwaters in the alps to spawn. This planned work is going to cause a huge amount of mud and silt in the waterway. Can’t it be postponed?
