> The shingle paths around St James Park are in such poor condition they become lakes. It doesn’t help that the City Care trucks try to avoid the puddles and drive down the grass making the paths wider. On corners they constantly cut the corner so for instance the circular grass area around one tree(pictured) is getting smaller while the path is getting wider. Much of this is just laziness. The trucks are quite capable of being driven down the middle of the paths and turning corners without encroaching on grass. These pictures were taken on different days. I have lots more! I’m sorry that pedestrians and cyclists have also taken to walking on the grass but when the puddles are over your shoes then we seek a drier alternative.
