> Good morning, I have lived next to the Styx Mill Conservation area for 15 years. In that time a lot of tree planting has gone on but in many cases those trees have all died generally due to lack of water and the area is mowed killing the few that survived. A year or two later it is planted again just for them to die again. This is shown in my photos where theses areas were planted last year with several hundred trees and have now been mowed over again and are about to be replanted. The last photo shows a simple solution that I saw last week in Wanaka. It is simply a large container of water and a bucket that asks people to water the plants as they pass. Dozens of people walk these tracks everyday and I’m sure would be happy to help. I walk there everyday and would happily do it if equipment was provided.
