# Road Signage, 172 Strickland Street, Sydenham, Christchurch 8023, New Zealand

Sydenham, Christchurch · filed 16 June 2025 · report 6482257

> Hi. The temporary traffic cones around a building site on Strickland are a massive safety risk for cyclists. They divert bikes through two very sharp turns to join fast moving traffic, right in front of a central traffic island giving cars no space to go round them. The 30kmh sign is very close to all this so cars are still doing 50kmh. I spoke to the safety planner there and he was quite upset that I took photos or criticised his plan. Happy to explain more if it's helpful. Thanks. Alex.
