# Trees - General, 60 Perth Street, Richmond, Christchurch 8013, New Zealand

Richmond, Christchurch · filed 18 November 2025 · report 7230451
https://www.chch.live/report/7230451

> Two Kowhai trees in the front garden of Council owned HP Smith Courts social housing complex, have recently been either pushed over (vandalized) or blown over. They both need re-staking to secure them into the upright position they should be. Please note, the local community fought for these trees to be planted after Otuatahi Housing Trust felled a mature native beech tree (without notice or CCC knowledge) which had stood in the street facing garden bed for decades.
