# Flooding, 800 Wainui Main Road, Wainui 7582, New Zealand

Wainui, Christchurch · filed 7 April 2026 · report 8046683
https://www.chch.live/report/8046683

> Kia ora, We have become aware of slash in the Wainui Stream - see photos attached - and are concerned that if a similar storm event to Feb 2026 were to happen again, that the slash might move downstream or block the natural flow of the river. As per my other (as yet unresolved by CCC) open ticket, our house was flooded in the Feb event and is still under repair. Failure to address the issues with the Wainui Stream, including this new slash blockage are exacerbating the flood risk.
