> I have lodged a job on 24/10/19 describing the barren area at end of Eric Melrose lane, Halswell which is left as shown in pictures and not maintained by the council. This leads to the area being a habitat to rodents and as a health care professional and mother of young kids aged 5 and 2 ,it is a great worry. Also, we were advised by Fletcher living that this area is owned by CCC and would be converted to a reserve! The families living in Awatea green would greatly benefit once the area is converted into a reserve as the kids and pets can be taking for walk and bike rides here. I have been advised by the pest control team that setting individual bait stations in our property would not solve the rodent issue and what needs to be done is for the CCC to tidy up this uninhabited land. I hope I would hear from CCC soon and as rate payers, our concerns are heard and auctioned.
