We're back in town for a bit & have been meeting up with close friends & family. Been to Formaggios for dinner twice recently. It was great food, very efficient & thoughtful service by the two Asian staff who attended our table on both occasions. They took our orders promptly and were very observant when we ran out of water. All meals arrived pretty much at the same time, no one needed to wait while others ate. I had the beef ravioli the first time and the vegan ravioli the second meal. Both were delicious, well presented & the portions were just right for me. I do recommend the bruschetta as
Gail E, 8 months agoI had the carbonara and tiramisu, and both were excellent. The carbonara was rich and creamy, with perfectly chewy pasta. The tiramisu was soft, fluffy, and slightly on the sweeter side. A great spot for satisfying Italian comfort food.
Haruka Ueda, 5 months agoA wonderful pizza experience for American travelers in NZ. My wife and I decided to order something different than our usual home fare, and ordered the #2 Ortolana. It was a vegetarian pizza and was an amazing choice. The crust was thin and had a just right crispness. The service was fast and extremely friendly. We got there rather early and it was quite empty, but by the time we were done, the front room was full. However it didn’t seem that noisy and we were able to maintain a conversation effortlessly. A very pleasant dinner which we will definitely repeat when we come back to Christchurch.
