The reporter’s words

Hi, I would like to request that speed bumps are installed on the section Harman street leading up to the intersection of Lincoln road to address a safety issue. I have a townhouse at 14 Harman Street across the road from Hazelden Bussiness park. We have been having some issues with vehicles dangerously/excessively speeding and accelerating approaching the intersection onto Lincoln road. We had an incident a couple of months ago with a vehicle sideswiping and damaging a parked car coming around the corner. There is really no reason not for cars to be able to drive fast on this section of road between two intersections. I think asphalt speed bumps would a cheap and simple solution, which could be implemented pretty quickly. There is also I high volume of foot traffic on this street from the business park. I often see a high volume of people walking back across the road from the business park to local cafes so I would suggest perhaps making this section of the road more pedestrian-friendly by adding one or two pedestrian crossings, which would also help to slow down the traffic on the road.
