The reporter’s words
This is a photo of the Halswell Library - I have walked past it several times over the last few weeks - and it has every light, TV and computer turned on. The most amazing waste of money one could imagine. I can not believe that no one turned off most of these before locking it for an unspecified amount of time. Surely someone could go turn them off? It is such an obvious and blatant waste of rate payers money. If this is multiplied around the city (which I don’t know as I’m not leaving my neighborhood under the lockdown) I would hate to know how much money the council has flat out wasted. Money that comes from rate payers like me. Please get all non essential powered devices turned off urgently!!
