The reporter’s words

There's no safe and legal way for a pedestrian yo walk from the Hornby Hub to the Mitre10 complex north on Main South Rd. There us no crossing on Carmen Road and no footpath beside the supermarket. Solution would be a pedestrian crossing by the Hornby Working Men's Club and an opening in the Mitre10 fence yo allow access to the car park between the supermarket and Mitre10. If nothing is done soon the is a high risk of a pedestrian fatality as people dodge traffic and walk on the roadside from Carmen Rd. North to the footpath that presently stops at Countdown.
