Roading/Streets

Reported Friday, 3 July 2020 at 1:59 pm, 9, Maclaren Road, Wigram, Canterbury, 8042, New Zealand.

The reporter’s words

A general comment around trees on the berm in the Wigram Skies area and I suspect the same applies to other areas too. Particularly with autumn and winter, a number of trees have bare branches protruding over the footpaths. Of particular concern are those in the 0.5 meter to 1.8 meter height range which are a danger to young children and adults with the possibility of a branch catching someone’s face or eye. It’s a health and safety matter. I think they should all be trimmed so that no part protrudes onto the footpath. It’s not so bad for more established areas where the trees are taller, or in summer when they have leaves.
