Roading/Streets
Reported Sunday, 6 September 2020 at 7:58 am, 198–200, Awatea Road, Halswell, Canterbury, 8025, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
South west side of Awatea, cycling over Southern Motorway past bus stop and shoulder ends forcing cyclists into lane of 60 km/h traffic. Another couple of hundred metres and then there is a well marked cycle lane all the way to Springs Rd. Strange that the shoulder has just been widened at the bus stop but the next section still remains undone Please email me to advise when this shoulder will be made wide enough that cyclists are not merged with 60 km/h traffic : rmoylan@pm.me I realise there are budget constraints and planning bottlenecks and prioritising. I need to know that you know there is a problem and will get to it eventually please. Thank you. PS standard proforma responses not appreciated on this one.
