Roading/Streets
Reported Wednesday, 4 November 2020 at 5:28 pm, Smartlea Street, Hoon Hay, Christchurch, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Smartlea St Bridge. Now a designated cycle way this bridge should be widened at least another metre so pedestrians won't clash with cyclists. This will take SAFETY out of both parties. You can imagine eg. a cyclist and a person with a pram on same bridge and maybe one or both being ignorant & cyclists are faster and dangerous equip. Also there should be a better flow to Smartlea St for cyclists than the dangerous right angle. (This maybe going to happen)? As this is going to be used by more cyclists it makes it even more dangerous. Please give this note to the relevant Manager & Safety Manager. Thank you.
