The reporter’s words

This afternoon I took my grandson to the playground in Harakeke Street. He is 5. He could not use any of the equipment as everything was sticky. He tried the slide and could not even slide down. The stickiness made it impossible to slide. I know it is coming from the trees surrounding the equipment, however this just means the equipment t means to be cleaned regularly at this time of year. James would not even touch the see-saw, he touched it, said, “Yuck, sticky,” and walked away. Aside from that there are several other issues with the park. The swings are set too high for him to access. The baby swing is a nonsense. It is a double swing but just one swing hangs there. The chains are too wide and short and the swing hardly moves at all. The ladder up the small slide has no sides. Not safe for little ones learning to climb ladders.
