The reporter’s words

Following my conversation with Neville Tucker I have taken the following photos of the pillars at both entrances of Glen Oaks Drive Hampton Grange Northwood. There are TWO sets of FOUR pillars at EITHER entrance of Glen Oaks Drive (16 pillars in total) The pillars are graduated in size. At the establishment of this subdivision these pillars were planted from the top of each pillar with roses but sadly with time these have since died & only one remains. What now exists is the pillars sporting large healthy specimens of weeds. As a proactive member of the Northwood community my husband & I have over the last 6 months have taken it upon ourselves to weed & spray these mini gardens at the top of each pillar. The two lowest pillars of each set of 4 are easily accessed & I have begun replanting in the two nearest to our home. The remaining 2 pillars of each set of 4 require a long ladder to access the top. To access the 2 tallest pillars is a safety risk that I no longer wish to partake in but at the same time I loathe to see the weeds which grow a considerable height sprouting from the top. I would ask of you as a solution - please can you put a concrete capping on the top of the 2 tallest pillars in each set (8 in total) This would solve the problem of continued maintenance in a high risk area while enhancing the overall aesthetics of the entries of Glen Oaks Drive. I am happy to caretake the lower 2 pillars in each set (8 in total) in return for a sensible solution to the problem as outlined. Thank you & I look forward to a positive outcome.
