The reporter’s words
Wind sports area at the Christchurch estuary needs some attention. Members of the public are driving into and around the grass paddock having broken a partition wire from the kite area car park and appear to have vandalised a gate leading into the sensitive wildlife area. 4 vehicles have been seen driving up in this area today (29 December) and other litres have reported other vehicles on previous days. Attached are some photos of offenders from today. Could council please fix the low wire fences to deter this behaviour from happening. Even with the locked gate to the kite sports area they have found access around this from the public car park.
