The reporter’s words

Clearance of stagnant water and blocked culverts required. The open street gutters are full of rain water which is unable to drain due to blocked covered driveway culverts and earthquake damage stormwater infrastructure. The water is full of bird faeces, decaying leaf matter and is foul smelling and an ongoing health hazard and has been this way for all of February despite multiple reports. Clearance of the water and tree debris required to address the immediate problem. Long term remediation of earthquake damage to the road, kerb and gutters is required to provide adequate draining of storm water from Dudley Street. Previous reports from early February remain unresolved and this matter will be escalated to local councillor and MP again.
