The reporter’s words

Severe bumps and cracking on the path through Siska Reserve. Alongside this, I have filed a separate report regarding surface flooding at the same location. The cracks are extremely uncomfortable to walk, bike, scoot or wheel (use a wheelchair) on. The path needs to be resurfaced as this path is a useful connection for people living on Clonbern and Siska Pl. A neighbour of mine on Siska Pl is a wheelchair user, and this current path is terrible for them. As well as improving the surface, there are several recommendations I have. Potential improvements could improve the alignment to go straight through from Siska Pl, removing one carpark rather than utilising the driveway at 23 Siska Pl. This would improve safety and amenity for cyclists and scooter users. At the Waimairi Rd end could realign the wooden fence with current best practice, and potentially widen the path at this point - it is too skinny, and a small grass strip is not needed here.
