Parks
Reported Tuesday, 5 July 2016 at 9:58 am, Annex Road, Middleton, 8024, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
Illegal camping. This is not the first time people have been camping in this general area. Both the CCC and the police have been involved before. I understand this may be a different person camping now. However, it appears to be the same problem. Lots of rubbish being dumped on the riverbank (Heathcote River), drinking alcohol in a public place close to a primary school and a playground (Seager Park). There are no public facilities here so they will be defecating in the bushes. The local children are very scared to walk through the reserve or along the road. One lady has been seen often in this area camping, smoking and drinking and more recently begging for money at the local shops (across from Spreydon School). Something needs to be done please. Our children may be at risk. Not to mention the mess they are making of the local environment.
