Roading/Streets
Reported Friday, 14 May 2021 at 9:09 pm, 61 Radcliffe Road, Belfast, Christchurch 8051, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Please urgently install a shared path on the north side of Radcliffe Road between Main North Road and Blakes Road, and install a wide shoulder for cyclists on the south side of the same stretch in Belfast. This stretch of Radcliffe Road is frequently used to access the shared use path alongside the Christchurch Northern Corridor by both pedestrians and cyclists, and the current road environment is very dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. With more residential development on Blakes Road in the works, the path and shoulder will allow residents to access Northwood and beyond safely on foot, bike, scooter etc. I saw many people walking along Radcliffe Road during Alert Levels 3 & 4 last year, so there is demand when it is safe.
