The reporter’s words

Halswell Junction Road; Road repair insufficient and deteriorated It is difficult to see from the photo, but the circled in red is where the road repair has sunk significantly enough to become an issue when trucks drive over the now deteriorated repair. The issue is causing surrounding property on the other side of the road to absorb the shock and shudder similar to that of an aftershock from the foundation up, the impact being felt inside the home as the house structure moves to more than what could be considered reasonable. There are a large volume of trucks travelling down this section of road daily (excess of 100/day) with increased activity due to surrounding subdivisions being developed and housing. The issue is causing empty trailers of large trucks to also bang and crash loudly as they drive over it, much like thunder and very noisy above what could also be considered reasonable. The impact to home and living life is very unsettling and unnerving which has potential negative impact on the health, safety and wellbeing of children, home owners and surrounding residents. The surrounding residents and community would appreciate if this is repaired to a more suitable and sustainable standard whereby there is no impact to surrounding homes and families
