The reporter’s words

At 2 Vernon Tce there appears to be developing activity around repair of old Land Rover vehicles and this activity seems to be spilling onto the public street. At various times I have seen vehicles that appear to be associated with this activity parked on the pavement, on the yellow lines, on the grass verge, and also vehicles that appear to be in a state of assembly or disassembly parked up on the street for long periods. Often this will be directly adjacent to the fire hydrant. Also often, the vehicles will be facing the wrong way, and on some occasions not have adequate reflective signs to make the vehicle visible at night. On at least one occasion the vehicle parked on the street apparently was not currently registered. (CarJam) I don't have a problem with the property having an interest in old cars, but the way that the activity is gradually increasing to consume the public space, and at that in a way that is untidy and unsafe, does not seem to be something that should be left to turn into a long term problem. Could we please get someone to review and ensure the public street is not used as a private or commercial workshop in this way, and that any vehicles parked on the public road will be vehicles which are registered, safe to be on the road and parked facing the correct way? At the moment there is an old Land Rover parked there, facing the wrong way and it has been there for three days so far.
