The reporter’s words

Lack of maintenance …. …..Highcrest Reserve, Western end on the northern boundary. Macrocarpa trees not maintained, cut or trimmed resulting in a continuous height increase which is now out of control.… I am writing as a committee member if the Residents Association, as we are receiving regular complaints about this lack of maintenance… ie nothing is done about them unless we complain. We were promised several years ago that these trees are on the regular maintenance program, but have yet to see evidence of this. However, on Monday 20th Sept, two ASPLUNDH trucks arrived seemingly to deal to them (blocked the area with safety cones etc), the 4 men sat around on the grass while one was on the phone for 30 / 40 mins, then suddenly they packed up and left… without doing a thing. This is the second time in a few weeks that this same thing has happened!! This seemingly ignoring the problem is just compounding the severity of the eventual job, in addition to having a detrimental affect on our residents’ views in the meantime, which is why we live here. It’s nowgetting way too high, was originally maintained to a max 3m… but is now very very high!!! Plus very scraggly. The local residents want (requesting) the height back to where it always was when being regularly maintained well by Council contractors. Please can we request you take this serious and get the job done, thanks.
