The reporter’s words

Currently on the Pipeline walk on the Bridle Path, there is lambing underway in the padocks that the access goes through. There are clear signs on the gates both ends noting that dogs must be kept on leads or face $300 fine. The number of people we have seen ignore this over the past few weeks is significant. Just in our trip up yesterday between 7.30 & 8am, there were 3 dogs off the lead (with one running into the sheep/lambs and luckily managing to be called back by owner). In all cases these people do not seem to care about the risk to the animals when spoken to, so a suggestion would be to have a Ranger presence stationed at the Summit Road end of the pipeline on a Saturday morning from about 7.30. The revenue from fines they could issue to these idiots would more than recoup the wage cost!
