The reporter’s words

Recently I almost had a car accident by entering the Riccarton Westfield Mall in the exit lane. The exact location I'm referring to is the car park at the corner of Riccarton Rd and Matipo St that is shared by the mall and McDonalds. It's not often I use this park when going to the mall because it's usually quite hard for parking but this day I did. At the moment there's a number of things wrong with this entrance and exit roading and it's a matter of time before others also do what I did this day. 1. On Matipo St heading towards Riccarton Rd there is no right turn arrow painted on the road indicating where exactly to enter the car park. 2. On the Mall exit lanes (two) - there are also no left and right turn arrows painted on the road near the footpath where it can be viewed by a car entering by Matipo St from the direction stated above. It was the right turn exit lane that I entered into thinking this was the entrance. 3. The blue arrow sign inbetween the Entrance and Exit lanes is covered up by bush! The bush should be completely removed and replaced by pavement. 4. The McDonalds drive-thru sign gives the impression of exactly that - It's for those ordering McDonalds! And on this day that was what was going through my head that that side which was barely visible as an entrance lane was actually the McDonalds drive thru.
