Roading/Streets

Reported Monday, 29 November 2021 at 11:39 am, 27, Skyedale Drive, Harewood, Canterbury, 8051, New Zealand.

The reporter’s words

The situation on Skyedale Drive next to Nunweek Park on Tuesday evenings when touch rugby is on is causing serious health and safety concerns. Cars park in both sides of the street meaning there is insufficient room for two cars going in opposite directions to pass each other. Last week this caused a significant log jam as no one could move. This led to road rage and stupid behaviour by drivers. Police were called but did not attend. Additionally cars drive far too fast there with children present - it is only a matter of time before a child stepping out from behind a parked car gets hit. This has been going on for a number of years and if anything is getting worse. Some type of traffic management is urgently needed.
