The reporter’s words

Kia ora team, I am reporting a vehicle which is consistently parked on the corner of Esperance and Croziers Street St.Albans, Christchurch which is a clear hazard to vehicles using that junction. The vehicle has been consistently parked on the corner of the aforementioned streets for approximately 6weeks - 2 months. It is parked in such a way that it obscures the view of other cars exiting the street (when travelling north on Croziers street, turning left into Esperance street) and forces the rod user to drive on the other side of the road as they negotiate that junction. The vehicle is parked contrary to the Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004, section 6.3, in that the vehicle is parked less than 6m from the apex of the corner. I ask that you please: #1 Add a dashed yellow line to the corner, so that nearby residents are clearly aware of parking further than 6m from the corner to avoid unnecessary accidents. # 2 Also please speak to the vehicle owner, who I believe resides at 33 Croziers Road and issue them with a warning, so that they understand that continued infringements will result in a fine being issued. # 3 Withhold my name and any identifiable details when speaking to the registered owner, to protect my privacy.
