The reporter’s words
After the Council resurfaced the road outside our house a few years ago our property now gets flooded when the roadside drainage overflows. The low point in the road profile used to be above a culvert pipe, so excess water would spill over the road into adjacent pasture. Now the low point is outside our house, so excess water spills over the road and flows down our driveway into our house. If this happens at night or when we're not home the damage would be much worse. The road elevation profile needs to be reinstated so that the drainage works as intended. We require that this remediation work is completed before the start of Winter.
