The reporter’s words

Can you please confirm why the forest block below the Victoria dog park is currently being felled? This is a beautiful forest block that myself and my dogs walk through on a daily basis. I am extremely upset to see and hear that this block of forest is currently being cut down. Where is the justification in this??? If a fire hazard has been created out of thin air by some jobsworth at the council who has decided there is fire risk all of a sudden, why cant a firebreak be created leaving the rest of the forest alone! This forest not only creates a beautiful walk that many people enjoy on a daily basis, it also creates a shelter for the dog park which is quite exposed in some areas. Where was the consultation on this?? I can’t believe this is happening!
