Roading/Streets

The reporter’s words
I reported to the CCC Facebook page that a work crew had left the job outside my house half done. The asphalt had been completed up to the edge of my drive, but for some inexplicable reason they elected to start on the driveway late in the day, resulting in only about half the area bring sparsely covered in asphalt and not packed down. Now, with my husband & I driving up the driveway to access our house (road cones placed by the same crew ensures we can't park on the road) we have sticky bits of asphalt all up our driveway and stuck to our cars & tyres. I don't understand why they didn't leave the job when they had packed down the footpath to the driveway edge, and then come back the next day when they had much more time and material to complete the job, and give the work time to set before any of us came home to drive over it! My exposed aggregate driveway is now a mess, covered in sticky specks of black asphalt. I'm unhappy with the way this work has been carried out!
