The reporter’s words

Hello, my dog and I were nearly killed today by a driver exiting the Chateau on the Park car park, which exits onto Matai St E at Girls High. The car had no idea whatsoever that it was crossing both the footpath and bike path, and gunned out of the driveway to the edge of the road without slowing down. I didn't die because I could hear it coming and I didn't hear it slowing down, so knew is wasn't looking or stopping. There is NO SIGNAGE whatsoever on the hotel exit to warn a driver that they are crossing the footpath and bike path. There is a worn white line and triangle painted in the ground, which obviously a foreign driver won't understand. There is also no signage on the footpath or bike path to say "Beware of cars exiting".
