The reporter’s words

I’m concerned at the age of this old poplar tree and the potential for one of the main trunks. (To the left of the tree, see picture) to come crashing down across the roadway. This is a riverside area where many pedestrians and runners, people with dogs, are present on a daily basis. Vehicle traffic on the roadway is light, but nevertheless present on a daily basis. This old tree is similar to one that collapsed in the Avon River several years ago, almost injuring some young people in a rowing skiff. It is also fouling the street light on the opposite side of the street. Thanks Andrew Webster 0272293939
