The reporter’s words

As part of the Nor West Arc cycleway, the intersection of Field Tce and Middleton Road was rebuilt with higher curb and channel in 2021. A rising main was added to a drain extending from my property in order to raise the water level to the new curb height. This has raised the water level about 40cm. Since the start of 2022 my garage has flooded 3 times. It had never previously flooded in the 9 years we've lived here. When it floods, the water comes into the garage around the walls that are below ground level and the ground water level beside the garage is higher than the garage floor. This had never happened before 2022. The down pipes are working normally, but storm water is flowing up and out of the Toby box on the street, at a lower level than the new curb height. Why is this happening?
