The reporter’s words

Increasingly people are parking in odd places in the Hansen park. I think it's to avoid puddles but also the road marking has become very faded. I would like to suggest it could be better designed and marked out to make it safer for kids to get to the playground without walking behind park cars. I have also seen many cargo bikes or longtail bikes use the park because of the river bike paths and schools in the area. I would like the council to add one marked cargo bike or family bike car park. Because of the length of the bikes they don't fit in the bike parking in Hansen's park without blocking access for others. It might be a New Zealand first and I would think it will be well used. Some mornings four or five cargo bikes can been seen in that one small area. There are lots of examples of cargo bike specific parking online. Or I could get a group of cargo bike users together to meet CCC staff on site to discuss. 021 299 1736 https://images.app.goo.gl/VQuZ6Df82Cx2pKwX9
