The reporter’s words

We live at 95 bowenvale Ave Christchurch. The property behind/above us is owned by the council and is bare land. Following the last two big rain events we have had more than two wheelbarrows worth of clay wash out onto our property from the large amount of ground water coming down the hill and off the council property. From what we can see there is no maintained drainage on the bare land and so this water washes straight down onto to our property. This was also evident by the stream of water still there 5 hours after the rain had stopped and the sun coming out. It appears to be undermining the bank which is evident by settling and damage of the bank and retaining wall, and has also made a complete mess of our backyard. This feels like a stormwater management issue on the council property but I’m no sure of who I need to speak to about this. Kind regards Nigel
