Trees - General
Reported Thursday, 15 September 2022 at 8:17 am, 2A Hare Street, Ilam, Christchurch 8041, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
These two trees (downy oak) release many small seeds onto the path below, which includes a tight bend. My husband and I use this path everyday on our bikes, and we've both slipped over in previous years (minor injury and expensive damage to my bike). We call it the 'ball bearing tree' because even going slowly across the seeds it's very hard to avoid slipping over. I'm worried now as the seeds will stop dropping again soon. Can you please trim these back hard, or even remove the nearest tree? It'd be great to see it replaced with an evergreen native.
