The reporter’s words

I am getting in touch with the council in regards to a Poplar tree situated on our neighbours property which has grown over our boundary. We are having many issues with this such as: leaves in the gutter + all over our property, excessive shading of our property, threatening our house and sleepout dwellings, roots are ruining our land and concrete path. Overall our enjoyment of our property. We have been in touch with our neighbour and have gotten some quotes for removal of this, but over the last year and a half our neighbour has been very difficult to discuss this with and also over the last couple of months completely un reachable (her property is rented out). Also over the back fence of the Poplar tree is the land of St Martins school/Centaurus Park. When one of the aborists who has quoted the removal of this tree, looked at this he was shocked that the tree was still legally standing as it is dangering the school kids and neighbouring houses. He said that the lower branches are very full of debris and this could increase the likelihood of a branch snapping of the tree or the whole tree falling in a storm or strong winds. We have not wanted to resort to contacting the council, but we have tried communicating and working with our neighbour to get this removed and still have no answer or result. We are also very keen to get this sorted as we are planning to build a new boundary fence between the two properties and do up our sleepout which is less than 500mm from the Poplar tree. Is there anyway you can please help us resolve/solve this issue? Kind Regards, Sarah :)
