Roading/Streets
Reported Tuesday, 3 October 2017 at 11:05 am, Halswell, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
Padestrian crossing timing is terrible at the halswell road and sparks road intersections. I was nearly run down by an angry old man while in the middle of crossing on a green padestrian signal. The signal turned red about half way across not allowing us sufficient time. The driver assumed as the crossing signal had gone red that he had he right to plough through the intersection. If the padestrian crossing signal lasted green longer this would better protect people crossing. Many school children use the crossing at this intersection and it would benefit to make it safer.
