The reporter’s words
My daughter and I live in Lyttelton and for years have passed and commented on the native Palm Trachycarpus fortunei that had a protected orange triangle on its trunk growing in the land at 240-242 Port Hills Rd. So you can imagine our shock and disappointment to drive by this morning and see its gone and a petrol station is going up in its place! Please check if the company, Fuel Installations, had the right permit to remove this Palm and I would appricate a reply. Many thanks, Melanie Karst. melaniejkarst@gmail.com
