Roading/Streets
Reported Friday, 15 December 2017 at 5:04 pm, 18, Rapaki Road, Hillsborough, 8022, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
Hi I note the appearance of white spray paint suggesting a parking space is going to be created on the corner of erewhon terrace and Rapaki road. This is crazy. As per the photo where a van is illegally parked, having cars park here makes it very difficult to negotiate what is a tight 180 degree corner. There is a deep gutter in the inside ready to destroy your wheel and having a car on the outside will make the corner impassible other than for small cars or by way of a 3 point turn. Every 12 months or so a truck gets stuck on this corner as is, let alone with cars parked there. Note the damage to the garage spouting caused by vehicles hitting it trying to turn the corner. Please use common sense and retain the no stopping here in the interests of keeping our street possible to residents and safe. For the sake of one car park it is a hugely increased frustration for traffic and is frankly dangerous. This park did not appear on the proposal for parking restrictions that was mailed out or I would have submitted against it. Pleas keep me informed. Regards, Jeremy
