The reporter’s words

This is a reminder about a water leak logged 11 December 2017. It was inspected on 15 December and closed without discussion with me. Subsequently rang 30 December and logged an urgent one day response call. Still no action. The water main has been leaking for at least a month and the bank above three metre high retaining walls and our new house is completely waterlogged . Water is flowing above ground for three metres beyond meter box and leaking water line. The root balls of plants above retaining walls are sodden mud. There is a leak in the water line immediately above the meter box and also further up the line and coming out of the bank above the meter box. The line above the meter box is under legal road - the shared driveway is sited on the original alignment of Rapaki Road and the Council subsequently realigned the road to head further up the hill. This leak needs urgent attention- failure of the bank or retaining walls would cause a significant amount of damage and would be very expensive to repair. This needs to be resolved urgently - I am away from today and will be out of phone contact from 4-9 January. Please contact me to discuss outcome and repairs. Thank you Hugh Nicholson
