The reporter’s words

Faulty one-way storm water drains. Surely water should not come back up drains when the river / tide is high? The water comes up drains on the corners of garlands road & Aynsley Terrace and also up garlands road and earl street, which the. Runs down garlands road. All this water coming up the drains spreads up above the footpath rapidly and has nowhere else to go but into MY property (11 Aynsley Terrace). The weather yesterday left 5-25cm of water across my property and my neighbours. Yes the river spilt over, but had these drains not had water coming up them I would of had none. I shouldn’t have to put up with this after half a days rain in the middle of summer. I expect this to be looked into and fixed. I look forward to hearing from you and will chase this up.
