The reporter’s words

Date of incident: 7 Jan 2018 Time of incident: 12:35am until 12:58am Location: Muka Park, Prestons Details: On moving from front of house to back of house, which borders Muka Park, became aware that there were people using the skate path at nearly one in the morning. Unsure how long the noise had been going on before this, as it was a cold night (12 degrees) so the windows and doors were shut. Initially I could only see and hear one adult male, skating the length of the skate path, with plenty of impact noises from doing jumps. Then car headlights appeared, facing south down the length of the reserve and casting considerable light onto house facades. Tyre tracks indicate the vehicle was parked on the basketball court. Could still only hear and see (the outline of) one person skating, but could also hear conversation so they were not alone. Phoned CCC Noise Control at 12:51, and was told they would only attend incidents on residential properties, so wanted to hand this incident over to the Police. I asked for the call be logged in the CCC system, and asked for a reference number (S01801070083). Car lights were turned off while I was on the phone, and by end of call, at 12:58, they appeared to have left. Supporting media available: Audio recording, photos of tyre tracks, video
