The reporter’s words

Re: Temporary Traffic Management Cycle lane on Waitaki Rd westbound blocked by roadworks sign, whilst eastbound cycle lane is partially blocked. Not sure why signs weren’t placed fully on verge, as space on both sides of road to do so. Westbound traffic is also directed towards cycle lane by coned lateral shift, with no advance warning they will be merging with cyclists (merging warning for eastbound vehicles, even though cycle lane hasn’t started at that point).
