Roads - General
Reported Monday, 12 February 2024 at 9:13 am, 190A Halswell Road, Hillmorton, Christchurch 8025, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
I saw a very serious near miss at this junction today because of the roadworks. Many cyclists use the left of the road (towards city) but due to the cones, cars cannot move into the centre lane to turn right onto Hendersons. So the cars merge then cars suddenly realise they are stuck behind turning traffic and SWERVE SUDDENLY into the cycle lane where bikes are. It is very very dangerous and I feel ill just thinking about what I saw. You really need to cone off the cycle lane too.
